Hilton Ward

My wife and I live at Ngunguru on New Zealand Northland coast. I have been boating all my life but in 1984 I won a photographic competition. The prize was an all expenses paid one week charter in Vaváu. That lit our offshore fire. We departed for Tonga in our 9.6m Laurie Davidson ½ tonner "Spindrift11" in 1993. 15 years later we moved ashore after having cruised 50,000 miles in the South West Pacific, Alaska and British Columbia. In 2021 I completed my home built offshore passage maker "Spindrift" and am now cruising New Zealand's Northland coast. We enjoy interaction with cruisers we meet while cruising our wonderful coast
